Jamshedpur, Sep 15: Unidentified thieves targeted the house of Tata Steel employee Niladri Sen at New Baridih Panchwati Road late Wednesday night.

According to sources, the thieves first gave biscuits to dogs in the locality to pacify them and then entered the house. While committing the theft, the culprits also ate chilly chicken kept in the kitchen. Cops suspect they used spray to make the family members of Niladri Sen unconscious.

According to Sen, “I was on night duty. I reached home at 6 am today and found a rod on the main gate. All family members were asleep. I called out my wife who got up and opened the door. She said she and our daughter had fallen unconscious due to the effect of spray. The thieves took away cash and goods worth Rs 1 lakh.”

Police recovered a silver coin dropped by mistake by the thieves at the gate of Sen’s house. They said they were scanning CCTV footage to get a clue about the thieves.
